Standing Nude, charcoal
Figure drawing is the best exercise for the painter. The human body offers an inexhaustible variety of form, lines and shapes. I enjoy working from the live model, with poses ranging from one minute to 15 minutes in length. Most of the time I use charcoal or pen and art marker.

Ilse Taylor Hable has been the greatest artistic influence in my life. She is meticulous in representing (the human) form correctly, yet she leaves room in her renderings for the exaggeration of form, which creates a beautiful and representation of the subject and an emotional response from the viewer.
Truly inspiring!
